FAINA® is a Portuguese brand of solid wood drums.
It was born from an explosion of ideas built up over time, which laid the foundation for our production.
Our entire process takes place in a workplace with a culture based on human values. This the approach we take to our work, or, better said, our passion for making drums.
The quality of our drums is clear from our rigorous wood selection process, the specific sounds we can produce, and the aesthetic exclusivity of the products we create.
As wood is a heterogeneous organism, the various cuts – transverse, radial, and tangential – are of the utmost importance to the aesthetics and tone of each piece.
TREATMENTS AND FINISHES
To improve and preserve the mechanical properties of the woods, textures, and tones, we employ ancestral techniques in our creations and make use of a variety of natural elements: oils, resins, dyes, lacquers, and waxes.
These different finishing techniques allow us to adapt to the microstructure of each type of wood. They also improve the longevity, beauty, and characteristics of our drums, making each one special and unique.
When selecting the type of wood, it's important to understand its general biology to ensure that it can meet our drummers requirements.
