This wood has a mid-interlocked grain and a medium density. It is dominated by shades of dark chestnut and copper and sometimes even reds can be seen in its fine texture.
This drum can produce a more open or more focused sound, depending on the bearing edges and cut of the wood. This drum produces deep notes and harmonics, as well as its characteristic timbre of bright tones with a strong projection.
